Most time people always comes to me for consultancy whenever they want to buy new phone.I don't have problem with the latest, the performing or the best phone in the market, i just look at them and the first question i always ask from them is HOW MUCH DO YOU HAVE? To some this question seem been rude, but at the end of the day i always explain to them the reason for asking that question.
You can buy a new ANDROID PHONE for as low as #5,000 and as much as #300,000 depend on your budget will result on the phone you will go on with.
Due to Nigeria Economy Situation I Always recommend a Phone around the range of #20,000 to #50,000
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING NEW ANDROID PHONE ARE:

Recommended - greater than or equal to 4000mah
SCREEN SIZE
From late 2013 5" ( " means inches) phone was the norm screen size phone people go in for. the screen size was so popular to the middle of 2015 when it was overtakeen by 5.5" and 6" phone, people now consider the 5" screen to be small. When buying a new phone now it is strongly advisable to buy a 5.5" phone. a phone with 6" and 4000mah battery will wait a little bit in pocket and it a little big for pocket.
NOTE: We are talking of screen size not resolution not it PPI not it maker
MEMORY
The memory is of two type, the RAM and ROM.
ROM is the internal storage and most latest phone comes with 16GB internal storage and a space for SD CARD extension. No matter how the memmory was partition, the 16GB is enough and if the memory was partition well 8GB is also enough for the job as you can even install most apps on SDCARD and a geek is capable of even installing all apps on SDCARD.
RAM most newbie always get confuse of what RAM is. they only know the full meaning as RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY but not really know how it works. they just know it always shois up in a circle when you are trying to view your reccent apps. RAM is a memory the larger the better. Let me tell you for an average android user, a phone with 1GB RAM will handle all your task very well. For a Power user or someone that loves android game a phone with nothing less than 2GB RAM will be ideal. For example.INFINIX HOT NOTE comes with two RAM variant the 1GB and 2GB you will hardly see the difference when the phone was performing but you will quickly know the difference when you are playing high end game and you minimize the game in order to do something else when you try to open the game latter the 1GB RAM phone will not have enough memmory to keep that game for you.

CAMERA
Let me quickly tell you, you will hardly see the different between a phone with 8, 12, 13 or 16 MP camera on phone but when they are transfer to a larger display the different is going to comes out. One things I always tell people is that never belief what you saw on paper about camera MP.

PROCESSOR AND SPEED
Most people don't lookn out for this when buying new phone but a power user will always look out on this when buying new phone than the CAMERA or ROM
QUAD CORE (4core) is the most common number of core on phone, we have phone with larger core like HEXA CORE (6core) OCTA (8 core) this is common in high end phone and the hot core from mediatek "MT HELIO" DECA CORE (10 core). the larger the number of core the better and the pros is that that larger the core the more battery will be consume. the speed of the core is always clock ranging from 1.0 to 2.5ghz (there might be higher) 1.6ghz will handle your task very well
RECPMMENDED - Greater than or equal to 1.6ghz and QUAD CORE
NETWORK
Most Android phone are equip with 3g network. As at now, only MTN is promisssing us 4G LTE netwok. Buying a phone that Support 4G LTE is just as that you have paid for service you are not going to use. ONLY Tecno Boom J8 #45,000 is the cheapest MTK phone that i can recommended that has 4G network
ADDITIONALLY FEATURES.
Finger print scanner: the finger print scanner is now going rampant, thanks God Tecno and Infinix have now include this features on there latest phone like HOT S, HOT NOTE 3 and CAMON C9
Gorrila Glass. i only use a phone with a gorrila glass once when i bought my Infinix zero early last year. gorila glass means your phone will be anti-scratch
CONCLUSION
This features that i mention over here is what the OEM always make use off to advertise the phone to us and you will find most of this feature in the back of seal box of the phone.
